willet dickcissels muskegon co. 6-16-07

this morning, saturday, there was one willet at the muskegon wastewater 
treatment system.  the bird was in the westernmost concrete aeration pond, 
which has been drained.  dickcissels have also returned to the muskegon 
wastewater.  these are singing in the rapid filtration pools, located 
immediately south of the main entrance road off Maple Island Road.  Other 
birds in this area include
upland sandpiper and grasshopper sparrow.  Dickcissels were also singing 
along portions of Swanson
Road at the Wastewater, between M-46 and the pond at the south gate on
