Hi -
The previously repotred CHUCK-WILS-WIDOW in Berrien County (True - Jones Roads) has not been observed - to my knowledge - since July 7, 2007. I have been out at night listening for the bird within the past week, without success.
Should anyone know of a more recent observation, I'd be interested to hear from you.
The CHUCK-WILLs-WIDOW was present at same location in 2005 & 2006, with July 3 and July 13 being the respective "Last Reported Dates" of observation.
As for large, southbound shorebirds in Berrien County, only WILLETS have been reported to me. So far, eight reports of the species have come to my attention, from June 27 - July 15. The highest total being 13 birds on July 3. Four of the sightings have taken place at Warren Dunes State Park, south of Bridgman. One sighting at Weko Beach in Bridgman and three at Tiscornia Park in St. Joseph (on north side of the river).
