July 4th. I went to Pointe Mouillee in mid-morning and ran into Adam
Byrnes and Brad Murphy. They put me on to an adult Stilt Sandpiper
and a few Short-billed Dowitchers, along with a Greater Yellowlegs.
These birds were on the west side at Mouillee. I think it is on the
west side of the Bloody Run unit. Anyway, if you enter from the
Mouillee Creek parking lot, you will see a slough to the north well
before you reach the Long Pond unit. That is where these shorebirds
were. i saw 2 family groups of Hooded Mergansers in that slough.
There is a dike road near there but it is very rough if you happen
to be on a bike like I was. I saw one Glossy Ibis at the north end of
the Vermet Unit. Lesser Yellowlegs were widespread in the Vermet Unit.

I checked the Erie Gun Club (Erie Marsh Preserve to birders under the
age of 50). On the interior dike system there was a small amount of
water in the main impoundment. Saw 3 Least Sandpipers and a Dunlin.
