Purple Sandpiper- Macomb Co., 10Jan07

The Purple Sandpiper found yesterday by Rob Poniatowski and Eli Thomas was 
present again today at the DNR location at the far end of South River Road 
in Harrison Twp.  Rob, Eli and I had excellent looks at the bird between 
4:30 and 5:00 this afternoon.  The bird was on the rocks along the south 
side of the point near the end of the parking lot where the trail to the 
point begins.

As far as I can determine this is a first record for Purple Sandpiper in 
Macomb County!  Is anyone aware of a previous record?
