Mich-Listers:
David Elbrecht spotted a NORTHERN SHRIKE this morning on the south
Wastewater properties. My wife and I saw the bird (an adult) later in
the morning perched on the telephone wire along Laketon west of Seba
(about 100 yards east of the elbow in Laketon). It then hover-hunted,
dove after something in the grass, and continued hunting by perching on
mullen stalks in the field north of Laketon.
This is the fourth sighting of a shrike at that location in the last
several days. There have been at least three shrikes (2 adults; 1 first
year) on the Wastewater properties recently.
- Ric
PS: David also reported one blue phase Snow Goose among the Canadas
east of Swanson between Apple and Laketon.
