Ottawa Co. Eider notes

A couple more details on yesterday's (21 Feb 07) Ottawa Co. King Eider.  
First, the bird was seen ONLY in the morning.  At least three people tried 
for it in the evening without luck.

The bird was seen at Chinook Pier, a small strip mall on the Grand River in 
downtown Grand Haven (NOT the pier at Lake Michigan).  Directions: Take 31 
to Jackson Ave, and head west on Jackson Ave toward downtown.  When you come 
alongside the Grand River Jackson will change into Harbor St.  Chinook Pier 
will be on your right, just after Columbus Ave but before Washington Ave.  
The bird was seen from this parking lot, in a patch of open water with scaup 
and mergansers.

Chip Francke will be searching for the bird later today, and we'll make sure 
the list is updated if the bird is refound.
