Birders-
I had 79 HUDSONIAN GODWITS fly by Whitefish Point during the waterbird
count this morning. They came by in two flocks; one of 27 and the
second of 52. They were last seen heading southeast into the wind.
Both flocks crossed the bay without hesitation.
Also at the point today were 4 RED KNOTS (along with 7 other species
of shorebirds) and a couple of BLACK TERNS.
For updates and the latest sightings from Whitefish Point Bird
Observatory, I encourage you to visit the Fall Waterbird Blog and the
Owl Research Blog. You can find the links at www.wpbo.org underneath
the Northern Saw-whet Owl picture.
Good Birding,
