This morning (Aug. 13) at 10:30 I saw an adult Hudsonian Godwit in
the Lautenshager Unit at the Pointe Mouillee State Game Area. It had
almost completed its molt into winter plumage. It was in a flock of
shorebirds that also included Greater and Lesser Yellowlegs, a Black-
bellied Plover, and 14 dowitchers. I think at least 3 of the
dowitchers were Long-billed, but I wouldn't bet the ranch on that.
To reach the spot, park at the Mouillee Creek lot and proceed about a
mile out the middle dike (about a quarter-mile past the pump) and
turn left (more or less north) and go 300-400 yards on the recently
manicured dike that separates the Bloody Run Unit (cultivated field)
on the east and the Lautenshager Unit on the west.

I didn't bird any other parts of Pte. Mouillee today.
