Swainson's Hawk and White Pelican, Whitefish Point, Chippewa Cty, 4-22-07

Calvin Brenan had a Swainson's Hawk and 2 American White Pelicans from the  
hawk platform today. Both were 1 time sightings, the SWHA made one pass by the  
platform before heading west and the AWPE headed across the lake. Migration 
has  been picking up, especially the hawks, cranes and blackbirds. There has 
only  been one sighting each for Boreal Chickadee and Black-backed Woodpeckers 
this  season, both by Calvin back in March. Spruce Grouse are being reported  
fairly consistantly in the area this spring.
