Birders-

Rick Brigham, Sean Fitzgerald and I had a Little Gull today, 25 Sept 2006,
at Oval Beach in Saugatuck- it was very probably a 2nd winter, less likely
an adult. The bird came by around 6:30 PM with a small group of Bonaparte's
heading south. There was also a major flight of Common Terns (~500+) and
over 100 Bonaparte's Gulls in about 2.5 hours watching. Also had 4 Surf
Scoters and several diving and dabbling ducks on the move.

Also, on Saturday 23 Sept, observers at the Michigan Bird Conservation
Initiative Congress in Pellston found a group of American Golden-Plovers at
the Pellston airport. Mike Bishop and I went over and counted 38 birds in 2
groups at the NE corner of the runways. There were also 2 Lapland Longspurs
and several pipts in with larks at the main terminal.

Good Birding,
Caleb Putnam
