Listers,
Apologies for the LATE notice, but I had some great birds this weekend in the Southern Lower.
Berrien Co
Saturday morning, after seeing the distant juvenile LITTLE GULL from Tiscornia and having a WHIMBREL fly in and land right in front of us. I motored down to the Magic Carpet Turf Farm and relocated both the BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPER and AMERICAN GOLDEN PLOVER.
Van Buren Co
>From the overlook on the south side of South Haven between 11:00 and 1:00 I had a fairly close adult PARASITIC JAEGER flying north and a distant JAEGER SP that refused to either come in close or be identified.
Muskegon Co
The two AMERICAN WHITE PELICANS remain on Muskegon Lake, easily visible from the overlooks on the north side.
Kent Co
Had a surprising ten species of shorebirds at the Kent City Sewage Lagoon. Decent scope looks from outside the fence at this location.
Monroe Co
A Monday morning walk into Pointe Mouillee from the Mouillee Creek entrance yielded distant looks at the long-staying TRI-COLORED HERON and a CATTLE EGRET. Both were in the Lead Unit when seen around 11:00 am. Also had my first pair of LONG-BILLED DOWITCHERS of the fall fly over calling loudly.
Good Listing,
Scott Jennex
Ferndale
