An Eared Grebe found yesterday by Tim Baerwald persisted this evening at the Three Oaks Sewage Treatment ponds. The bird has been in the southernmost pond (best viewed by looking south or east from the big square indentation in the chain link fence along Schwark Rd). The bird is in winter plumage and allowed photos today.

The treatment ponds are on the East side of Schwark Rd, just past a railroad crossing about a quarter mile north of US12. An excellent map is page 417 of A Birder's Guide to Michigan (essentially take I-94 exit 4 to US 12, take it east towards Three Oaks, Schwark Rd is about 4 miles east of I-94.
