Greetings,
Matt Hysell and I found an immature Harris's Sparrow at the "Floral Lane" area of Warren Dunes State Park this morning. It was feeding on mixed seed that Tim Baerwald recently spread just north of the Youth Camp/Floral Lane parking area. (Thanks Tim.) The seed is visible from the parking area.
Other birds present included Dark-eyed Junco and White-throated, White-crowned, Swamp, Chipping and Lincoln's Sparrows. (Juncos and White-throats were the most abundant...)
Floral Lane is 1.5 miles north of the main park entrance on Red Arrow Highway and .5 mile south of the intersection of Red Arrow Highway and Exit 16 on I-94.
Good birding,
Kip Miller
