Short-eared Owls, Hillsdale Co.

I posted these sightings last night, but for some reason the message  
didn't go through.  So here goes again.

Late yesterday afternoon (11/13) Sean Bachman and I saw 5 (maybe 6)  
Short-eared Owls at the traditional Hillsdale County spot, i.e., the  
fallow field immediately west of Tripp Road, about a quarter-mile  
north of Burt Road.  The birds started flying at 5:15 p.m.  They were  
hunting mostly in the vicinity of a couple of conspicuous bare trees  
about 200 yards west of Tripp.  A couple of Harriers also were  
cruising in the area.
