Short-eared Owls, Hillsdale Co.

Late this afternoon (11/13) Sean Bachman and I saw 5 (maybe 6) Short- 
eared Owls at the traditional Hillsdale County spot--the fallow field  
on the west side of Tripp Road, about a quarter-mile north of Burt  
Road.  The birds began flying at 5:15 pm.  There are a couple of  
conspicuous bare trees in the area where they were doing most of  
their hunting.  A couple of Harriers were flying in the same area.
