Listers,

I spent some of the morning of light north winds at Port Huron and was
rewarded with an adult POMARINE JAEGER and a juvenile BLACK-LEGGED KITTIWAKE. The
JAEGER still retained the long, twisted center tail feathers and was
backlight - it may have been either intermediate or dark morph. It flew in from the
Canadian shoreline several hundred yards offshore and circled up and
disappeared into Lake Huron. The KITTIWAKE came up the river and turned back at the
rivermouth to head back down past the bridge and was not seen again.

Lots of Scoters - 30+ White-winged, 10+ Surf & at least 3 Black, along with
piles of Long-tailed Ducks.

Up the coast at Lexington in Sanilac County I had a Cackling Goose with the
large Canada flock, a flyby Northern Goshawk and a Shrike on M-25 south of
town. I was surprised to find 5 Long-tailed Ducks and a Loon inside the harbor
in town.

enjoying migration but not the short days,
