Hello,
Sorry for the late report, but I have not gotten the chance to post this
until now.
The winds at Pt Edward in Sarnia, Ontario (opposite from Lighthouse Park in
Port Huron) were very strong out of the north, which brought a few
interesting birds around this morning (11/11). Early on 2 Black-legged
Kittiwakes were seen flying by and a few hours later a 3rd bird headed past
as well (all were juvs). None of these kittiwakes stuck around and all three
were seen flying south down the channel. One jaeger sp was seen late in the
morning and a Purple Sandpiper appeared briefly around noon (unfortunatly
neither of these birds were seen passing into Michigan, but very easily
could have done so).
2 Red Phalaropes were reported by another birder later in the day, which
were seen on both the US and Canadian sides of the channel.
good luck,
