Max Henshell just called to report a Western/Clark's grebe he spotted from
the public boat landing in Hubbell (between Hancock and Lake Linden) making
it a nice waterbird day in Houghton Co.
The flock of Snow, Blue and 1 Ross's seen this morning is still in the
vicinity of the wastewater facility near the Pilgrim River mouth just east
(and south) of Houghton -- best to access the area from the Peepstock trail
which leads out from the vicinity of Pilgrim Terrace across a small pond.
Once over the bridge work the grasslands surrounding the waterwater
treatment plant and look for the flock of 17 geese. The birds fly around
some. Otherwise try looking from the subdivision opposite the block factory
(please observe the no trespassing signs and road close signs numerious in
this area).
