Good Evening Fellow Birders,
Thank you to those of you who posted this bird for us. My cell phone died after I called Adam Byrne to get the word out.
Unfortunately, the Northern Gannet never made a second appearance today. However, with the upcoming days of continued southerly-component winds, I wouldn't be surprised that it "stays" on this end of the lake.
So let's hope it will.
Also, a/the adult Lesser Black-backed Gull we had at the watch last Sunday was seen again this evening on the south end of the park. It was a spit of land commonly frequented by gulls. There was also an adult Greater Black-backed Gull in the gull group, which made for nice comparisons.
Given the next few days of southerly winds, it might also be beneficial if you're at the hawk watch or surrounding area along the shoreline, to check out any and all swallows. Cave Swallows could be a realistic possibility this week.
If any Cave Swallows are found at the watch, we will let ya know. Also, if the Gannet Reappears, we will do like wise.
Cheers,
JS

I received a call from Paul Cypher that Jeff Schultz had an immature
Northern Gannet from the Lake Erie Metropark boat launch that was flying
south of Celeron Island. Sighting was a 8:45 AM.
If someone who is subscribed could pass this along to Mich-listers I'd
appreciate it, I think it may bounce when I try.
