Mich-listers:
Atlasing in SW (Rolland and Broomfield Twps.) Isabella
again yielded good grassland birds.
DICKCISSELS were found at the following locations:
-2/ Jerseyville 1/2 mile west of Rolland
-1/ Wyman just south of Remick
-2/ Remick 1/4 mile west of Costabella (W County Line)
-4/ (at least) Rolland at Broomfield (over the entire field)
-1/ Broomfield 1/3 mile west of Rolland
HENSLOW'S SPARROWS were found at these locations:
-3/ Chapman 1/3 east of Costabella (GRASSHOPPER SPARROW (2)
also present)
-2/ Deerfield at Kimball
-1/ Rolland 1/3 mile south of Broomfield (GRASSHOPPER SPARROW
present)
-2 + 2/ (at least)Rolland at Broomfield both sides of road
-1/ Broomfield 1/3 mile west of Rolland
*The very large field at Rolland and Broomfield is conducive
to several more of the above!
Also, CLAY-COLORED SPARROWS were found at the following in
young pine plantations:
-1/ Kimball 1/2 mile south of Deerfield
-1/ Rolland 1/2 mile south of Remus (M-20)
Red-headed Woodpeckers (pair) were located on W. Broomfield
at Hall's Lake.
