Birders,
during Monitoring Avian Productivity and Survivorship banding today, 25 June, we captured a second year, probably female Virginia's Warbler, at noon. This was a drab specimen of this less than spectacular species. I think finding this bird again will be quite difficult. We do not have a tape of this bird and we have many Yellow Warblers which the book says they sound like, so we do not know if it has been singing. Anyone who wishes can come to the Pitsfield Banding Station and look for it. From I-94 take Sprinkle road South toward Vicksburg approximately six miles. At "S" Avenue East turn left, East. Go East less than one mile and look for the Pitsfield Banding Station sign on the right (South) side of "S" Avenue. The number it 5616. Turn in the drive and go South about 800 feet to a small parking area. From there walk South another 600 feet and you will be in the center of the banding area and very near where the bird was last seen. If this bird is resighted I will Post.

    Good birding, Rich
