Greetings,

During this morning's Berrien Birding Club field trip we were able to
successfully relocate the Worm-eating Warbler near the south end of Warren
Dunes State Park (Berrien County). And thanks to a tip from Tim Baerwald, we
found an easier access route to its location.

>From the northwest corner of the northern-most beach parking lot follow a
trail that leads up and into the dune forest. (100 feet or so from the
parking lot you will find a sign along the trail that reads "campground"...)
The trail leads up into the dune forest to a stairway on a steeper section.
After climbing the stairs, we heard and saw the warbler in the ravines on
both sides of the stairway.

We also found Prairie Warblers in both dune blowouts to the north of this
location. These are easily accessed from the beach to the north of the
parking lots.

Good birding,

Kip Miller
