Western Meadowlark, Dickcissels, etc., Isabella county, 6-22-06

Mich-listers:

   Atlasing in Union Township yielded a WESTERN MEADOWLARK 
heard distinctly from the roadside at Field Stone housing 
development, which is along Pickard Road.  This same 
development, which is very weedy with only two houses thus 
far, no less than 6 separate DICKCISSELS were singing and 
easily observed.  An additional 2 DICKCISSELS were located 
west of this location on Pickard in a weedy field surrounding 
a residence.
    Additionally, several UPLAND SANDPIPERS were discovered 
in central Vernon Township.  3 individuals were on fence 
posts (very photogenic) on Lincoln Road just south of 
Stevenson Lake Road.  Another individual was calling in an 
abandoned field app. 1/4 mile west of Crawford on Stevenson 
Lake Road, while yet another individual was seen on Crawford 
1/2 mile south of Stevenson Lake Road.
