American White Pelicans, June 6, Muskegon County

Mich-Listers:

June 6:  Bob Kingsley reports American White Pelicans on the sandbars at 
the east end of Muskegon Lake near the mouth of the Muskegon River.  His 
photos of these birds are posted on the RECENT SIGHTINGS page at:  
http://users.tm.net/mcnc .

In other instances of pelicans at that location, the best viewing has 
been from the north side of Muskegon Lake (either the Conservation 
Club's bird viewing area or from the elevated viewing platform at the 
south end of the Muskegon Lake Nature Preserve).  In either case a scope 
would be helpful as these sandbars are a long way from any shoreline.
