Hello Birders ! Allen Chartier and John Bieganowski, as well as one of
the Metro Beach Nature Center naturalists,
saw a Snowy Owl at the DNR point at the very end
of South River Rd. in Mt. Clemens, MI, on
Friday, December 29, 2006. It was not seen
yesterday, nor today, as yet. The Department of
Natural Resources point is directly across the
small bay from Huron Point inside Metro Beach
Metropark. In the past, when there have been
snowy owls in the area, they would spend time back
and forth between the two areas and have even
showed up on the sandy swimming beach area of the Park.
So, hopefully, the bird is still around the Lake
St. Clair area and will show up again soon.

Supervising Naturalist
