Red-Throated Loon, Allegan County 12/2/2006

Hello,

I birded northwestern Allegan County this morning.  The highlight was 
a nice look at a Red-throated Loon flying north on Lake Michigan at 
Douglas Beach.  Douglas Beach is just north of Center Street in Douglas.

Also seen in Allegan County this morning was a flock of over 500 
Sandhill Cranes east off 62nd between 128th and 127th.  I counted over 
200 before I realized I hadn't gotten to the largest part of the flock 
yet.

Near the Todd Farm Unit south of 116tn again on 62nd was a single 
Lapland Longspur in a flock of Horned Larks.  They were on a manured 
filed on the east side of the road.  I heard it's rattle and then got 
a good look at the longspur between trips of the manure spreader.
