buff breasted sandpiper at Muskegon Wastewater

A good number of birders were treated to a decent variety of shorebirds today (Saturday) at the Muskegon Wastewater in Muskegon County.  The list below is a combination of birds my group saw along with a shorebird survey by Rick Pedler.

semi-palm plover    3
killdeer    13
greater yellowlegs    1
lesser yellowlegs    41
solitary sandpiper    6
spotted sandpiper    15
sanderling    3
semi-palmated sandpiper    3
least sandpiper    16
Baird's sandpiper    10
pectoral sandpiper    7
stilt sandpiper    3
buff-breasted sandpiper    1 (north side of large west pond)
short-billed dowitcher    2

Other bird of note was a female bufflehead.
