Red-necked Phalarope

Yesterday I birded the Muskegon Wastewater Facility after I renewed my
annual pass. I went up to the center dike as was delighted to find four
Red-necked Phalaropes. They were in the west pond near the corner, swimming
with the ducks and gulls. They stayed very close together.

In the far western cell I found several varieties of shorebird which
included least and semi-palmated sandpipers, one dowitcher, both yellow-legs
and pectoral sandpipers. On Saturday, a Peregrine Falcon was harassing the
shorebird population.
