Birders,

A MARBLED GODWIT was observed at the north end of Cell 3 this morning
between 6:30 - 9:00am.
The bird is in basic plumage. It was in the far northeast corner of the
mud spit when I left.

The TRI-COLORED HERON was also seen by Paul Chadd (Ohio) at the corner
of Long Pond, Vermet
and Lead Units (in the Long Pond). It was sitting on a muskrat den
along the phragmites/reeds.

Will Weber reported seeing a 'pipit' along the Middle Causeway -
couldn't verify if it was an American or Sprague's, so keep your eyes
open if you're out there.

I also had a SEDGE WREN at the Mouillee Creek parking lot - other side
of US Turnpike along the creek. SWAMP SPARROWS continue to sing along
the creek, also. I also counted 148 Great Egrets and 40 Great Blue
Herons in the Vermet Unit at 7am this morning.

Other notables in Cell 3

(1) Sanderling
(2) Semipalmated Plover
(1) Stilt Sandpiper
(7) Semipalmated Sandpipers
(5) Least Sandpipers
(6) Lesser Yellowlegs
(1) Bonaparte's Gull
(dozens) Caspian Terns
(dozens) Forsters Terns

I'll post pics as soon as I'm able - I took way too many pics.......
