Listers,

I was at Belle Isle at daybreak today (this "having a job" thing can really get in the way of birding) and located the previously reported Ross's Goose in the river on the south side of the island just before 7:00 am. There were numerous small groups of geese (obviously mostly Canadas but I did find a juvenile Snow Goose and several domestics) that were moving all around the island. Maybe later on they will congregate and make searching easier.

Good Birding,

Scott Jennex

Greetings,

Gary Parsons and I were able to relocate the Ross's Goose at Belle Isle around 4:15 this afternoon. It was feeding on the golf course, roughly 1/2 way between the driving range and the yacht club.

Unfortunately, at about 4:30, the group of geese it was feeding with took off and flew to the northeast and out of sight. We drove around the island one more time and were unable to relocate the flock. Hopefully they haven't left the area.

Good birding,

Adam M. Byrne
