This morning, my wife and I did the drive along St. Clair river from Algonac
to Port Huron (St. Clair county). At Lighthouse Park in Port Huron
(Birder's Guide to Michigan pg. 171) we had a total of 26 Long-tailed Ducks.
Most were on the Canada side, though a few were on the Michigan side. As
they drifted down near the mouth of the St. Clair river they would fly back
and disburse a bit. No other interesting waterfowl.

Just south of Port Huron we had a single female right next to the Michigan
shore:

Specifically, this location is off Business 69 south just south of Port
Huron where the Black River empties into St. Clair river. Quay Street is
the first road just north of the bridge over the river. Head east where
Quay ends into Merchant. Follow Merchant to the right and a parking lot
near next to the river.

Lots of waterfowl along the St. Clair river route but not much else of
interest. However, we had a single Glaucous Gull from the boat launch in
Marine City.

Take care,
Tom Pavlik
