This is the Michigan Statewide Bird Report for Thursday, June 30th 2005. It
is sponsored by Wild Bird Outfitters, located on Wilson Avenue in
Grandville.
In BERRIEN COUNTY, as of June 25th, at least 1 EURASIAN COLLARED DOVE*, and
1 EURASAIN COLLARED DOVE* x RINGED TURTLE DOVE* hybrid remained at the
village park in Three Oaks. This park is located on the corner of US-12 (Ash
Street) and Elm Street. As of June 26th, the CHUCK-WILLS-WIDOW* was still
being heard, along Jones Road, near its intersection at Long Lake Road, and
along True Road, just west of M-140. Single WILLETS have been reported at
Warren Dunes State park on June 24th (Rex Hubbard, Kevin Thomas) 27th (Rex
Hubbard)& 28th (Brad Anderson). These observations have taken place along
the parks north shoreline at Lake Michigan. On June 24th, a MARBLED GODWIT
was seen with the WILLET, among a gull flock.
DICKCISSELS seem to have become quite widespread over the Southern Lower
Peninsula. Reports this week from: BERRIEN, CASS, WAYNE, SANILAC, SAGINAW
and LIVINGSTON COUNTIES.
In MUSKEGON COUNTY at the Muskegon Wastewater Facility, adult and chick
WILSONS PHALAROPES have been seen, most recently on June 25th.
In LENAWEE COUNTY, June 26th, at Indian Crossing Trails Park, a
YELLOW-THROATED WARBLER was reported by Darren OBrien.
