Birders,

The Chuck-Will's-Widow continues. After a pleasant
evening picnic on the beach of Lake Michigan, my
wife and I went to the previously described locale
at dusk and heard the bird calling south of True Rd.
off and on between 10:10 and 10:30. We heard no
goatsuckers from Jones Rd.--but lots of frogs and,
later, a Barred Owl--and heard a Whip-poor-will in
the distance from True Rd. near 140. The place
where we had the Chuck on True Rr. was the first
open field (house in back) extending southward,
which was not too far east from the Jones Rd. and
True Rd. corner. The bird was far enough away that
the "chuck" syllable was practically inaudible.

A lifer for our dog Sadie and a Michigan lifer for
Lynette and me. Thanks for all the reports!
