Howdy Listers
I had an adult Buff-breasted Sandpiper this morning on the lower harbor breakwall here in Marquette.
Also two days ago, Zach Gayk & I birded the Keweenaw and ended up with 10 species of shorebirds, the best being 5 Baird's Sandpipers at Lake Linden Sewage Pond in Houghton Co. Other migrants arriving to the western U.P. right now include Redhead, Lesser Scaup, Ruddy Duck, most of the dabblers (except Pintail), Pectoral Sandpiper, Sanderlings and Bonaparte's Gulls. Small migrant flocks of warblers are also starting to pass through.
I also had a couple of Red Crossbills last night along the Dead River Basin in Marquette County.
