Today (July 10) at 10:30 am a dull-plumaged Wilson's Phalarope was in Cell 2
of the Banana at Pte. Mouillee. I'm told it was also there yesterday.
Other shorebirds included scads of Short-billed Dowitchers, Yellowlegs
(mostly Lesser), and Least Sandpipers, plus a few Stilt Sandpipers,
Spotties, and Killdeer.
Cell 2 is rapidly drying up. Right now it is nearly perfect for
shorebirding, but I doubt that it will be that way very long unless we get a
substantial amount of rain fairly soon.
