Birders,

While birding Pt. Mouillee this morning I saw (3) WHITE PELICANS in the
Lead Unit.
I was able to get a few digiscoped pics from the Middle Causeway. I
then headed to
Cell 2 where I saw the following:

(4) RED KNOTS
(1) BAIRD'S SANDPIPER
(1) WILSON'S SNIPE
(6-8) STILT SANDPIPERS
(6-7) SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHERS
(several) LEAST SANDPIPERS
(numerous) SEMIPALMATED PLOVERS
(numerous) SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPERS
(numerous) KILDEER
(2) PIED-BILLED GREBES
(4) GREEN HERONS

Thanks to Don Henise for finding the Red Knots and Baird's Sanpipers.
He and Scott
Jennex were also there and may have more to add.

We did see 3 hunters w/ Canada Geese decoys along the mudflats of Cell
2. They had guns
and were all garbed up in camouflage. I was somewhat annoyed since I
didn't think that
hunting season didn't start for several more days, and that I wasn't
with them since they were
within several feet of all the shorebirds (w/ the sun at their backs)...

I was able to get some pics of the Red Knots and Snipe, and as I was
leaving Cell 2 I saw the
three Pelicans in Cell 3 - I was able to get a couple of closeups w/ my
last 4 shots on my card.
