Birders,
The Ann Arbor adult LBBG, henceforth known as Leroy
(pronounced "LEE roy", after the great linebacker of
the same name; it seems the name "Lester" is already
taken), was in the big pond of the Ann Arbor Landfill
at 1pm today. He was not there yesterday at noon.
I've seen this bird, presumably the same individual,
on several occasions in March-April, and
October-November, annually since 2000, usually at the
Ann Arbor Landfill (my most often checked location),
but also at Mirage Lake and Avis Farms. Feisty
bugger, often lunges at the Ring-billeds. Long may he
linger, though his appearances are usually brief.
Common stuff follows.
Also present:
1 Spotted Sandpiper
16 Killdeer
1 Ruddy Duck
Swift Run marsh:
2 G. Yellowlegs
10 L. Yellowlegs
3 Least Sandpipers
1 Wilson's Snipe
14 Killdeer
Stone School and Ellsworth pond:
2 D-c Cormorants
