Purple Sandpiper

A Purple Sandpiper has been present on the south jetty of Pere Marquette Pier in Muskegon, County.  It was first observed on November 7th.  It was also observed by John Hamel and myself on November 15th.  On both dates the bird was located about half way between "the bend" and the lighthouse.  Although safer, searching from the relative safety of the concrete, may not allow you to add this bird to your list.  On both occasions I found it necessary to "hop the rocks"  and check out the gaps between the large cap boulders.  The sandpiper was found feeding near the waterline.
