Hi--
Sorry for late report, but I pulled this off a birding website. It may still
be of interest to birders:
[by Terry Kikendall]
"Jon,
I spotted the KENTUCKY WARBLER from the ridge path [Warren Woods State Park]
on Saturday May 22 around 8 AM shortly after entering the woods from Warren
Woods Road. The bird was fairly high in the trees where the ridge bends
sharply to the right. No song, I spotted its movement and lucked out
getting a good look when it stopped briefly on an open branch.
I got the WORM-EATING WARBLER on Sunday May 23 around 8:30 AM. It was
located on Wishhart Path [road runs through Grand Mere State Park] toward
the end of the road (past the barren dune opening and before the
turnaround). The "Wormie" was located near a pullout on the east side of
the road which can be identified by following the trail leading into the
woods a short distance where it tees with another trail. Look to the left
at this tee about 20 yards or so and there is a "5 Mile" marker post. Also
a SCARLET TANAGER hanging around the area (observed the evening of the 22nd
and still there on the 23rd.)
Take care,
Terry "
