Today, Jim Lesser and I saw the Lazuli Bunting at 8:40 AM in Leelanau County (directions below). The bird was seen in the trees in the back of the yard, and was best seen from the street. While we were there, it never came to the feeder. It was also singing most of the time, and sounds somewhat like an Indigo Bunting. Also saw a Vesper Sparrow in the field across the street from the house.
Directions- From M-22 about one mile south of Suttons Bay, go east on E. McAllister about 100 feet to a brown house, 11171 McAllister, on the left with a lot of bird feeders. Park on the side of the road

At 1:00 PM we saw the Lewis' Woodpecker near the banding hut at Whitefish Point. The bird was on the ground eating insects.
