Tricolored Heron in Kalamazoo County May 5-6

Birders,

I am posting this on behalf of Ray Adams who just called to tell me that at
9:00 a.m. this morning (May 6) he relocated a Tricolored Heron found
yesterday by Joe Johnson.  The bird was at the Kellogg Bird Sanctuary in
northeastern Kalamazoo County, and the bird was found on the west side of
Wintergreen Lake near the Great Blue Heron rookery there.

I would encourage anyone who obtains a photograph (or good written
description) of this bird to forward it to the Michigan Bird Records
Committee.

The Kellogg Bird Sanctuary can be reached at (269) 671-2510 (admission fee
$3).  The staff here will be able to give updated status of the bird,
provided those who come to look for it stop in at the Visitors Center and
let them know of your success (or lack of success), as they don't get out of
the building very often.
