Northern Hawk Owl--Chippewa Co---29 Dec 2004

Hello,

The following is pulled from <Northbirding.com> Received too late for 
inclusion on Michigan RBA this week, but still post worthy. I don't know who 
"Barny" is:

"Hi all:  Took a short drive around the M123 loop north of M28 today. Was 
surprised to find a Hawk owl sitting in a tree next to the Fire hall at the 
south end of Paradise [CHIPPEWA COUNTY]. This is my first one this year. 
Pine Grosbeaks, Pileated Woodpeckers,and Pine siskins were also seen. 
Yesterday, while on my way to Manistique, I seen a Rough-legged Hawk,light 
phase, and a Northern Shrike, 4 miles west of Gould City on US2.
