Birders,
Scott Jennex and Tim Smart just called to say they relocated the
previously reported Varied Thrush this morning. There were also Pine
Grosbeaks at the same location. Scott noted that there is plenty of
fruit on the tree so hopefully the bird will stick around.
Merry Christmas,
Joe Agius
Directions per Skye Haas
-To get to Jacobsville from Houghton, cross the bridge north into
Hancock and immediately turn right towards Lake Linden. Take this road
to Lake Linden. A block before the flashing yellow light thats the left
turn for Calumet, turn right where the sign points to Gay-Jacobsville.
Take this road for a while till you come to the Dreamland bar (large
White building with a patio. Turn left here and drive for a while till
the road T's, make a left and shortly you will be in the tiny village of
Jacobsville. The Crab-apple Tree is on the left in the center of the
village and is the only fruit tree in the area. I imagine this bird will
stay here as long as there are berries on the tree.
