[Mich-chat] Snowy Owl, Casco Twp. St. Clair county

Yet another Snowy Owl sighting in lower MI!   Returning home from Thanksgiving dinner here, daughter Jenny & husband Mark came upon a SNOWY OWL just around the corner from our place.  All white adult male sitting on a mail box right along Meldrum Rd in front of one of the large commercial working farms in the area. They stopped and it flew into the farm parking lot on a fence. Some of you may remember this is the same place some years back when we had a 'flock' of Short -Eared Owls just south of the Town Hall that hung around for several days. The habitat is right in this area--vast open agricultural & fallow  fields.  Jenny called me on her cell and son Ray & I went right over in his truck. By the time we arrived it was gone.  Today (Friday) I criss- crossed the Twp. much of the day in vain looking for it. All to be seen was hundreds of Ring-billed/Herring Gulls in the farm fields-- not to mention also hundreds of Starlings plus several Crows, a few Red-tailed Hawks and a few Eastern Bluebirds!  I w ill continue looking again tomorrow. Over the years I've seen Snowy Owls in this particular area on several occasions.
