Had an occasion to be in downtown St. Clair yesterday PM so of course checked on the St. Clair River all the way down to Marine City before dusk ensued.

Hundreds upon hundreds of ducks (mostly),  plus Geese, Gulls & Swans.  Most were on the Canadian side so couldn't ID those well with my small scope.

There were good numbers on the US side, some along the waters edge. When I walked down the steps to the boardwalk at the St. Clair city park near   the St. Clair Inn the ducks present there quickly paddled away downstream.

Several Red Breasted Mergansers, many Canvasbacks, Scaup species, Mallards, Buffleheads, Common Goldeneyes with a few Long -Tailed in the mix.  Out in the middle of the River several mature Greater Black-backed Gulls were easy to pick out in the assortment. Further downriver near Marine City were several Trumpeter Swans ---possibly Tundras but likely Trumpeters by their shear size.  Too far out to check for the yellow spot on the beak but they were NOT Mutes.

No sign of any Bald Eagles which are regularly reported patrolling the river now!

On theway into town we had Horned Larks at a farmyard with probably Snow Buntings in the mix but all flew off way into the back fields when we stopped.
