All-

Today I found a very strange warbler at Port Huron State Game Area which may be a hybrid involving Cerulean Warbler as one parent. The bird sang a song unlike anything I've ever heard; it did not even resemble the song of a Cerulean Warbler. But the bird appeared to match quite closely the plumage of a male Cerulean, and its habits were very much in line with those of that species.

Photos, video (inc. sound) clips, and directions to the bird are available on my blog. Anyone trying to chase this bird needs to be forewarned that it is in a relatively inacessible location most easily accessed by boat (for example, by kayak from the M-136 bridge), but could also be accomplished by a difficult 0.4 mile bushwhacking from Abbottsford Rd.

Comments on this bird's identity are welcome and appreciated!

Good Birding,
