Soo trip report - Feb 21 & 22

Birders,

Here are the highlights from Genesee Audubon's trip this weekend to the Soo. All observations are from 2-21 unless noted otherwise

Rough-legged Hawks (3) - all light-morphs at various locations S of town
Red-tailed Hawk (1) - seen today over M-28 between Hulbert Corners & M-123
Sharp-tailed Grouse (8-10) - 3374 9 mile Rd as posted previously
Snowy Owls (5) - 2 on Hantz Rd near small building on W side of road & 3 on Centerline (1 on the fallen barn)
N Hawk Owl (1) - at M-48 at S Mccabe rd
N Shrike (3) - sorry, didn't note locations S of town
Boreal Chickadee (1) - at Basnau Rd, Hulbert Bog 2/22 at 8:00 near the empty red suet bag on S side of road
Pine Grosbeaks - feeders at Dunbar Forest & elsewhere
**Red Crossbills (7) - 2/22 less than 1/4 mile S of Whitefish Point**
White-winged Crossbill (1) - Dunbar Forest feeder area 
Common Redpoll - numerous. can't miss
Hoary Redpoll (1) - Dunbar Forest feeders
Pine Siskins - can't miss , numerous
Evening Grosbeaks - 2/22 feeders at house on Basnau Rd and best seen at house just E of "76" gas station along M-123 W of Paradise, out towards Tahquamenon Falls as previously posted

Best sighting was probably the Fisher we saw crossing Basnau Rd just west of the hill leading down into the bog.
