Matt: I think you are correct. Some years back there was a breeding
population west of Grayling around Lake Margrethe. I think I heard there are
a few still around (Arrowhead Drive?) Of course there was the well known
breeding population at/around Whitefish Point. (Are they still there?). We
had a small local breeding population not far from our family cottage in NE
Kalkaska county a few years back but have since disappeared. Down here in 30
years we've only had Evening Grosbeaks visit our feeders about 3 times and
for just a day or so.
