On Sunday mornning I had the biggest migrant concentration I have seen for the entire year including May. In an hour and a half on foot along the trails in a small park on Andy's Point (North Point Park) on the north side of Portage Lake in Manistee County I had close to 60 species including 14 species of warblers, an early Pine Siskin, a late Black-billed Cuckoo, several Empidonax flycatchers. It was a morning where I had a difficult time chosing which group of birds to watch, they were very active and all over the area. In contrast the area I checked earlier in the morning near Bear Lake was extremely quiet.
