Birders,

I have learned of a field trip this Saturday, September 6 at 8:00 AM taking place at Shiawassee N.W.R. near Saginaw at 8:00AM. This weekend they are having an open house. Please see the details in the e-mail below.

Since many of the better shorebirding areas at Shiawassee NWR normally are not open to the public this is a good opportunity.

HI again,
 
   I organized  a field trip/bird survey, yesterday, at Shiawassee NWR,  for some of our Saginaw Audubon members.     We had a great day birding, with 95 species logged.  The best was a pair of Hudsonian Godwits.  Added to the ones from a few days earlier, we had 101 species.  
 
   This Saturday and Sunday,  the refuge has an open house.   All trails are open to the public.   There are two bird tours being given.    I am leading the one on Saturday at 8AM.   We are driving this one, with many stops, of course.     We meet at the end of Curtis Road.  Spread the word.    Maybe some of your member would like to join us.
